FLOWERY BRANCH, GA -- Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith was resting comfortably at home Monday after being taken to a Charlotte hospital with chest pains following Sunday's comeback victory over the Carolina Panthers.

"Following the Falcons game vs. Carolina today, head coach Mike Smith was transported to a hospital in Charlotte for a non-emergency matter," the Falcons said in a statement Sunday night.

11Alive's Randy Waters said Smith, 52, flew home overnight and is resting comfortably at home. He is expected to be in the office late Monday afternoon and will take part in team activities.

He plans to talk with reporters at 8:15 Monday evening.

The Falcons won Sunday's game, 31-23.
