Chick-fil-A to host Daddy-Daughter Date Night

(WXIA) -- Chick-fil-A will bring back its popular Daddy-Daughter Date Night this weekend.

The fifth annual event will be Saturday, Feb. 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at participating restaurants.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night encourages fathers and their little girls to spend time together. Every "couple" will receive take-home booklets featuring conversation starters and ideas for future outings.

Attendees will also be treated to tableside service, limousine and trolley rides, and other surprises.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night is free, except for the cost of food. Seating is available every hour; fathers and daughters are encouraged to call their local Chick-fil-A locations in advance to reserve a time.

Sonny's BBQ guests to decide Pitmaster Showdown winner

(WXIA) -- Sonny's BBQ customers will help decide the restaurant chain's next menu item.

Three people have made the finals in this year's Sonny's BBQ Pitmaster Showdown. The winner will have his or her sandwich added to the menu.

Guests are invited to sample each creation and then vote for a winner at sonnysbbq.com. The contest ends Sunday, Feb. 22.

Eat at Chili's to help Tenn. tornado victims

(WXIA) -- Several Southern states were slammed by severe weather earlier this week, including Lincoln County, Tenn., which experienced a devastating tornado.

Those who want to contribute to the community's rebuilding fund can now do so, simply by eating at Chili's.

On Sunday, May 4, more than 60 Chili's restaurants in Georgia and Tennessee will contribute 10 percent of the day's earnings to the Lincoln County Disaster Relief Fund.

Chili's diners can also make monetary donations by adding extra money to their check totals.

(WXIA) -- Few foods say "summer" like baby back ribs, and Shane's Rib Shack wants to celebrate the change in seasons with free summertime food.

On Saturday, May 17, participating Shane's Rib Shack locations will give away a free half-rack of baby back ribs and a 20-ounce drink to the first 100 customers. The lucky diners will also receive rib giveaway T-shirts.

"Our fifth annual rib giveaway provides us the opportunity to say thank you to all of our loyal customers and fans who have made Shane's Rib Shack what it is today," chain founder and president Shane Thompson said in a release.

Pizza Hut offering 50% off online orders

(WXIA) -- Twenty years ago, Pizza Hut delivered its first-ever pizza to be ordered over the Internet.

Now, the pizza chain is celebrating this milestone by offering a half-off online deal for customers.

Medium and large Pizza Hut pizzas will be 50 percent off when ordered online now through Jan. 10.

Pizza Hut has also launched Hut Lovers, a loyalty program that provides members with exclusive deals.

A large pepperoni, mushroom and extra cheese Pizza Hut pizza was the first physical good ever purchased online, according to Pizza Hut chief marketing officer Carrie Walsh.

"We want to celebrate the fact that before consumers could buy books, clothes, music or vacation packages via the Internet, they could place an online order for a Pizza Hut pizza," Walsh said in a statement. "We're doing so by giving back to our customers who have helped us lead the way with digital innovations over the last 20 years."

(WXIA) -- In honor of Veterans Day, Chili's is giving customers an easy way to support the Wounded Warrior Project.

On Sunday, Nov. 10, Chili's diners have the option of donating 10 percent of their checks to the charity, which supports injured military personnel and veterans.

Simply download the flyer from the Chili's website and present it to a server to make a donation.

Vets and military members who eat at Chili's on Veterans Day -- Monday, Nov. 11 -- will be treated to free entrées.

Steak 'n Shake to open in Oakwood

Steak 'n Shake to open in Oakwood

OAKWOOD, Ga. -- A brand new Steak 'n Shake will open Thursday in Hall County.

The restaurant is located at 3525 Thurman Tanner Parkway in Oakwood.

Oakwood Mayor H. Lamar Scroggs, Police Chief Randall Moon and Fire Marshall Scott Cagle are all expected to attend a ribbon cutting during the opening day festivities on June 20. The fun will begin at 10 a.m.

"We are extremely excited to bring another Steak 'n Shake restaurant to Georgia," Steak 'n Shake CEO Sardar Biglari said in a statement. "Each time we have opened a new Steak 'n Shake, we have received a tremendous turnout, which is building to an ardent following."
