FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- A north Georgia author will hold a book signing in Flowery Branch later this month.

H. Chris Barber lives in Hoschton and is the author of Charging Your Mind-set, a self-help book that "explains the guidelines for how to purposefully determine the outcome of your day, utilizing everyday examples to clarify how this outlook translates into daily living," according to his publisher, Tate Publishing.

Barber drew upon his experiences as a crisis negotiator on a SWAT team to write Charging Your Mind-set. Being in such a dangerous line of work allowed him to realize that positive thinking often translates into a positive outcome.

He will sign copies of his book on Friday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Common Grounds Coffee Shoppe, which is located at 5510 Main Street.
